I moved to BRF in October 2014, and had Centurylink. I told them I was renting, and refused to agree to a 12 month contract since I was renting. I had service until spring 2015, and for the most part it was fine. I purchased a home and moved out of my apartment, and notified CenturyLink. I moved to the country, and could not get CenturyLink at my new address, as they do not provide service there. I paid my bill in full, and thought that was the end of it. Nope! Months later, I started getting demands for hundreds of dollars, claiming that I had agreed to a 12 month contract--which I absolutely did not. I asked repeatedly to listen to the voice recording they are supposedly making when I initially signed up, and they have never come up with that. It has been over two years now, and they are still sending me a bill for hundreds of dollars, and gave it to a collection agency which calls and bothers me frequently. I will never pay this bill, because I don't owe it. I TOLD them I was renting for a few months, and they were UNABLE to reconnect my service at my new address. Stay FAR away from CenturyLink no matter what. They are the worst.
