I had a horrible experience with this Hertz rental place. We decided last minute to rent a car and drive up north to NOLA. We called the 1-800 number. They told us we could pick up the car at the Navarre location within two hours. We went to the rental office, which was also a fed ex place. When we told the woman at the counter (a middle age blond woman), she yelled at us and said, "We don't have any cars, why would you only give us two hours?" I replied that Hertz said that they had a car for us, but she insisted that they did not. After expressing my disappointment and stating that we should go to the airport, she magically came up with a car...that just happened to be sitting out front. While there I asked if we could return the car after they closed at 5:00 PM, and she stated there was a drop box in back we could use. We rented the car for two days. On 1/24 we filled the car up and dropped the car in the parking spot. The two men that I was with (one of which is a retired decorated Police Officer), dropped the keys and the return slip in the drop box. I put the car in the parking spot. On Friday January 31, I received a phone call from Hertz stating that I had not returned the car and did not fill the tank. It was an investigator. I told the story of the poor service we received and my feeling that this was linked to the rental agent, but the investigator called the rental place and the lady told her we had not returned it, so the investigator sided with her.

The thing is that I have receipts proving that I filled the car and I have three witnesses that were with me when I returned it. My complaint is 1) the service received initially 2) The agent is lying 3) The agent is intentionally being deceptive

I would not suggest that you rent from them, this could happen to you as well.
