the employees/phlebotomists need to realize that its a business and their salary is paid from revenues generated from blood tests; no testing, no revenue, no job. customers always come first and when your attitude turns away $10,000 in collections, sooner or later someone will take notice. i am T Ammar, MD and by strategically integrating blood testing i have been able to solve some diagnostic dilemmas and have helped many debilitated patients after years of suffering and million dollar evaluation with no answer.
when a patient presents to you with a request for numerous tests (from me, since i can only speak for myself), there is a solid logical algorithm that is used to generate such. please respect that and remember the patient is the one that is not well and seeking help while you chose to be a phlebotomist. be empathetic and kind to your patients; not only are they suffering but they also pay your salary.
